HMSHost, the world’s largest provider of food, beverage and retail services for travellers, was known to put the YUM in YYZ, but were looking for a fun and innovative way to engage potential customers onsite, as well as educate consumers at all Toronto Pearson locations they own and operate.
Knowing the airport purchase decision is typically driven by proximity and price, five ipads were loaded with the custom iSpin to Win application. Along with friendly HMSHost ambassadors, customers were engaged in high traffic areas, and given the chance to win percentage discounts off their next food or beverage purchase.
Although spinning the digital wheel took mere seconds, iSpin to Win acted as a dynamic data capturing tool, as well as a new sales generator in the thousands. Overwhelming positive reception, through the terminals and through tweets, was felt, with an increase in social media engagement during the activation period.
